We liked the look of the Cocobolo Ring Box so much that we decided to make a larger version.  This time, though, we kept the straight edge look but gave the keyed lid a little slant along one side for some visual interest.  We used a mortiser to rough in the squared off interior and then a lot of elbow grease with hand chisel and sandpaper to finish it off.  The result is a bit more of a rustic look in the interior with hand tool marks still visible.  The box is perfect for rings, keys, spare change, buttons, charms, beads and lots of other trinkets or keepsakes.  Like the ring box, this is finished with Osmocoat and hand rubbed and buffed wax.
