This little painting was inspired by a photo found during time spent out west. It is acrylic on canvas, with lively brushstrokes intended to celebrate the playful personalities of horses. We elected to enhance the mood of this picture with a frame that puts the horses in the happy confines of their home—they are looking through their ‘window’ on the world at you, inviting you to play. The frame is lap-joint construction in knotty pine, finished with an acrylic wash, and for good measure embellished with a wrought iron hook that holds a leather-wrapped rope representing tack items. This picture, including the frame, measures 31” long x 24” tall.
