We have no explanation for how the idea for this project came to us. Sometimes it is better not to ask. But in the spirit of Easter, as well as all other times of joy and regeneration, we present the Egg Plant—a bush consisting of black walnut and spring green fleece leaves that sports an abundance of ‘blooms’ in the form of paper-mache eggs. The eggs are finished with white acrylic paint to add an extra luster, and the walnut bush and matching solid walnut frame are finished with natural water based brush on acrylic to enhance the grain. In all kinds of light, the bright whites and greens really pop off the deep purple background.

 

This piece measures about 12” tall x 12” wide x 2” deep, and already has a hanger attached to the back. All you need is the nail.
