This clock was the ‘plug’ from a bandsaw box made of ash. We cut two chunks of ash and glued them up for a nice thick stack and drew on the design for a bandsaw box. The box itself didn’t work out as we had hoped, but we loved the shape and grain of the remaining plug—it looked happy. The idea to turn it into a clock appeared from nowhere, and we went with it. The ash is finished with an oil-based urethane to enhance the grain, and the clock is battery operated quartz movement. Tip to tip, it measures approximately 5” tall x 5” wide x 2 1/2” deep.
