We have been holding on to some small pieces of exotic Cocobolo wood for a while now, and finally decided it was time to do something with them. For our first project, we created this cute little ring box. First we shaped the perimeter of the box using the bandsaw, after which we created a ‘keyed’ lid by removing the top portion in curvilinear fashion so that it only reseats in one way. Then using a Forstner bit we created an opening in the center approximately ___ inches deep. We sanded the whole thing on an oscillating sander and by hand, and finished it off with Osmocoat and then hand rubbed and buffed wax. This nifty little guy measures ___ by ___.
